Damilola Adekoya, popularly recognized as Princess Comedian, has openly condemned her colleague Biola Adebayo for hosting convicted actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, also known as Baba Ijesha, during an interview.

In a piece published by PREMIUM TIMES, it was reported that Baba Ijesha, in his appearance on Adebayo’s 'Talk To B' podcast, proclaimed his innocence and shared his perspective on the events that led to his conviction in a widely publicized sexual assault case.

The interview triggered significant backlash from social media users, with many condemning Adebayo for providing a platform to someone convicted of such serious accusations. The criticism led to heightened calls for Adebayo's accountability, prompting her to delete the interview from her YouTube channel and issue an apology via Instagram.

In her apology video, Adebayo emphasized that she neither supports sexual violence nor child molestation, clarifying her intentions behind the interview. She claimed she was merely fulfilling her role as an interviewer and anticipated an apology from Baba Ijesha during their discussion, which he failed to deliver.

However, Princess Comedian, whose foster daughter was a victim in this case, responded to Adebayo's apology, accusing her of being hypocritical in a separate video shared on Instagram. She expressed her disbelief at Adebayo's actions, questioning how someone who identifies as a survivor of sexual assault could interview a convicted perpetrator without adequately addressing the victim's suffering.

Princess described Adebayo’s conduct as particularly callous, asserting that the interview exacerbated the emotional turmoil of the victim’s family. She stated, "How can someone experience sexual assault, and what has been taken from them returned? You claimed you spoke with him expecting an apology, but did not ask him when given the opportunity."

Princess accused Adebayo of deliberately seeking to elevate her own status by interviewing Baba Ijesha, suggesting that since the incident came to light six years ago, Adebayo had neither reached out nor extended support to the victim.

She remarked, “After someone has served their sentence, you made the choice to interview him. If your intention was indeed to seek an apology, the fact remains he did not offer one, yet you proceeded to upload the video, demonstrating a severe lack of sensitivity.”

Furthermore, Princess argued that Adebayo's claim of wanting Baba Ijesha to apologize was just a facade for personal gain, asserting that generating controversy and engaging audience attention were likely her true motivations for the interview.

Princess emphasized that the patterns of discomfort perpetuated by high- profile figures contribute to societal excuses for sexual offenses, urging Adebayo to reflect on the implication of her association with a convicted sexual offender.

In the context of the case, on November 15, 2025, Baba Ijesha was released after serving three years of a 16-year sentence for sexual assault handed down by the Ikeja Special Offences Court in July 2022. Following his release, he was listed in the sex offenders’ registry by the Lagos State Government.
