Tacha Akide, a notable figure from reality television, has voiced her dissatisfaction with the negative comments directed at Lagos State by some Nigerians.

In a recent social media video, Tacha expressed that the challenges faced by Lagos are largely due to the large number of individuals migrating from other states in pursuit of better prospects. She called attention to what these detractors have done for their own regions.

Tacha Akide speaking about Lagos State criticism

Tacha stated, 'Before you criticize Lagos, ask yourself, what is your own state doing? I constantly hear people complaining about Lagos being dirty, smelly, and full of beggars, and I find it amusing because the real issue isn't Lagos itself but the situation at hand.

She further explained, 'We have 36 states in Nigeria, yet Lagos bears the burden of the entire country. Over 20 million people reside in Lagos. These are not just foreign residents; they are Nigerians. Have you ever tried managing a vast population like that? Think about the reasons people flock to Lagos in the first place.'

She attributed the influx to the inaction of many state governors, claiming they remain idle for years, failing to create jobs or improve infrastructure, resulting in a massive migration to Lagos as people seek better living conditions.

'If just 10 to 15 states performed even half as well as Lagos, the burden on the city would lessen significantly, but it appears that the majority of other states are stagnant. They are, indeed, sleeping,' she insisted.
