Troops from the 232 Battalion, working alongside civilian hunters, have detained three individuals suspected of terrorist affiliations during a search operation in Mubi North Local Government Area, Adamawa State. The operation took place in the Angwan Rami general area in the early hours of April 1, 2026, following intelligence reports about insurgent activities.
The apprehended suspects have been identified as Ado John, aged 27; Umaru Yunusa, 22; and Alhaji Saleh Mamman Ibrahim, 44. Initial investigations indicate that these individuals are part of terrorist networks operating in the region.
Notably, Alhaji Saleh Mamman Ibrahim, who had previously been listed as a repentant terrorist, reportedly admitted to his participation in the assault on Ngoshe in Borno State. This community experienced a deadly attack by suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters, which resulted in casualties among civilians and soldiers.
Reports from the Ngoshe incident indicated that over 100 residents were either missing or abducted during the attack. Further disclosures from a military source suggest that Ibrahim was also acting as a double agent and was reportedly involved in plans to attack the Mubi barracks with the objective of seizing weapons.
The suspects are currently held by the 232 Battalion for further interrogation and intelligence gathering. Security forces have reiterated their commitment to intensifying ongoing operations to prevent terrorists from operating freely in the North-East region.
