The Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation has revealed its intention to initiate its yearly Ramadan Iftar Feeding Programme targeting impoverished Muslims across seven states and the Federal Capital Territory, coinciding with the last ten days of Ramadan.

The initiative will launch in Niger, Sokoto, Bauchi, Borno, Kaduna, Plateau, and the Federal Capital Territory, where daily Iftar meals will be provided at two mosques per state. Each mosque is anticipated to serve around 100 fasting individuals.

In Kwara State, a region where the Foundation has historically achieved the highest outreach, the programme will expand to 52 mosques, providing sustenance to thousands of fasting Muslims.

During his remarks, the Executive Director, Audu Idowu Musa, emphasized that this initiative aims to ease the burden on many households during Ramadan.

“At a time when economic challenges are pronounced, even a modest meal can significantly alleviate the plight of vulnerable families,” he stated.

He further shared that Ramadan serves as a reminder of the significance of compassion and helping one another, noting that small gestures of kindness can have a profound impact.

Musa added that this feeding programme aligns with the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to humanitarian assistance, as well as education, healthcare, and community development, expressing gratitude to volunteers and mosque committees for their efforts in preparing for the event.

The Foundation also called on Nigerians to use this sacred month to pray for peace, unity, and progress in the nation.
