Saudi Arabia has instructed five Iranian diplomats to leave its territory, allowing them just 24 hours to do so.

This action occurs in the context of heightened tensions involving Iran, the United States, and Israel, with Saudi officials citing a rise in assaults targeting civilian areas and energy installations within the kingdom.

In a communication from the Saudi Foreign Ministry, it was confirmed that among those expelled are Iran's military attaché, the assistant military attaché, and three additional embassy personnel.

Authorities in Saudi Arabia expressed that their decision was a response to continual attacks conducted by Iran against its regions.

The Saudi government condemned these actions as a breach of international laws and a serious violation of the principles of state sovereignty, cautioning that such provocations could substantially harm diplomatic relations between the two nations.

The Ministry further remarked, "These acts contradict the principles of Islamic brotherhood and the values espoused by the Islamic faith, which Iran frequently professes but fails to embody in its actions."

Earlier this month, the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh experienced an assault involving two drones, an incident that has been attributed to Iranian forces.

According to Saudi officials, the unmanned aerial vehicles struck the diplomatic complex located in the capital's Diplomatic Quarter, leading to minor fires and some structural damage.
