Troops from Operation Enduring Peace have initiated a manhunt for those responsible for the murder of Alhaji Bilyaminu Julde, the Ardo of Gindir, located in the Gashish area of Barkin Ladi Local Government in Plateau State.
According to a security source, the incident took place around 11:45 p.m. on March 28, 2026, when military personnel were alerted to reports of gunfire in the vicinity.
Upon their arrival at the scene, the troops found Alhaji Bilyaminu Julde fatally shot inside his home by unidentified assailants, who had fled before the troops arrived.
The source further indicated that two rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, alongside 29 spent shells, were recovered from the location of the incident.
The remains of the deceased were subsequently handed over to his family for burial in accordance with traditional practices.
Investigations into the case have begun, while the military has increased patrols and initiated a manhunt aimed at apprehending the culprits responsible for the attack.
