Nigerian musicians, Seun Kuti and Peter Okoye, widely referred to as Mr P from the P-Square band, have reconciled their differences after a public conflict that arose during the 2023 general elections.
The disagreement between the two artists stemmed from their opposing views regarding the presidential aspirations of Peter Obi, who was the Labour Party candidate during that time.
Tensions escalated when Kuti labeled Obi an "opportunist," prompting a defensive response from Okoye, who questioned Kuti’s significance and contributions to the music scene. This exchange rapidly devolved into a heated dispute on social media platforms. For more details, you can read the original conflict here.
Recently, the two singers crossed paths at a nightclub and opted to forgive and forget, embracing each other to signify their friendship.
A video showcasing their cordial interaction at a Lagos club has been circulating on social media.
In the footage, Kuti is heard expressing, "We are artistes, we can't be fighting over politicians," a sentiment that Okoye concurred with as they moved forward from their past disagreements.
