Sisters Victimized by Family Members in Grievous Assault Case

Two young sisters endured horrific sexual abuse at the hands of multiple male relatives, including their father, grandfather, and brothers, with the mother complicit in the acts.

Recently, six members of their family were sentenced in connection with the sexual exploitation of the sisters, who are both minors—one being just under 13 years of age—located in Sussex, a southeastern region of the United Kingdom.

According to a statement from Sussex Police, all individuals involved faced a total of 39 charges, which encompassed severe offenses such as rape and sexual assault, and were convicted in the previous year.

The investigation was initiated when one of the victims confided in her school teacher in January 2025; she disclosed horrifying accounts of various forms of rape and sexual violations she suffered from her father, grandfather, and two brothers.

Shortly thereafter, her younger sibling also came forward, alleging maltreatment, negligence, and cruelty within their household.

Following a trial conducted in September 2025, the family members were found guilty on multiple counts. After the allegations surfaced, it was reported that the family attempted to intimidate the sisters into retracting their statements, but their efforts failed.

Detective Superintendent Andrew Harbour expressed that the case revealed disturbing aspects of how the accused exploited the trust placed in them by the minors. "What should have been a haven of love and support turned out to be a source of fear for the victims," he stated.

He added, "They preyed on the victims' fear hoping to silence them. Fortunately, their voices have been heard."

The 43-year-old father was convicted of five counts of rape and additional sexual assault charges concerning a child under 13, leading to a 28-year prison sentence. Meanwhile, their 70-year-old grandfather received a nine-year sentence after being charged with three counts of sexually assaulting a minor under the age of 13.

Both brothers, aged 24 and 21, were convicted of multiple sexual offenses, with each facing four counts of rape. The younger sibling was sentenced to a total of nine and a half years, while the older brother received an additional three and a half years to an existing sentence, the nature of which in this context remains unclear.

The sisters' mother, aged 43, was sentenced to ten and a half years after being found guilty of child cruelty, false imprisonment, and obstruction of justice.

Furthermore, the uncle also convicted of obstructing justice received a three- year sentence.
