Shank Comics, a prominent Nigerian skit maker and online streamer, has sparked significant discussions on social media by declaring that comedians earn more than music artists.

During a recent livestream, the comedian suggested that the public often perceives musicians as wealthier due to their tendency to flaunt their affluence more openly than comedians do.

He further claimed that leading figures in Nigerian comedy, such as Bovi and Basketmouth, possess more wealth compared to well-known Afrobeats musicians like Asake, Wizkid, and Burna Boy.

According to Shank, comedians prioritize long-term financial security and are more inclined to invest rather than indulge in extravagant purchases, such as luxury vehicles.

“I believe there is greater financial gain in comedy than in music... Comedians opt to invest rather than spend on cars,” he expressed.
