Super Eagles defender Olisa Ndah has made a significant career move, joining South African club Stellenbosch FC for the remainder of the season, with a potential one-year extension.

Stellenbosch officially announced the acquisition of the 28-year-old centre- back on Tuesday. This signing is expected to provide immediate experience and reinforce the team's defence as the league season enters its crucial stages.

"Stellenbosch FC is delighted to announce that the Club has acquired the services of defender Olisa Ndah (28)," the club stated in an official release.

Ndah arrives as a free agent after his contract with Orlando Pirates concluded. He spent four and a half seasons with Pirates, where he was initially considered one of the league's most dependable defenders.

"Olisa is a player with proven quality and experience at the highest level, and we are pleased to welcome him to Stellenbosch FC," said CEO Rob Benadie. "We are deliberate in our recruitment strategy to ensure that every signing complements the group, and having had the chance to assess him closely, we are confident he will be a valuable addition to our squad."

Ndah's transfer signifies a return to the Premier Soccer League, where he was once recognized as one of the league's most consistent performers. Known for his strength in tackles, composure on the ball, and tactical awareness, the Nigerian quickly became a fan favourite at Orlando Pirates. However, recurring injuries in recent years impacted his form and playing time.

Following the end of his contract, Ndah shared a heartfelt farewell message to the fans, management, and players of Orlando Pirates, marking the conclusion of a period that included title challenges and participation in continental competitions.

At Stellenbosch, Ndah becomes the fourth Nigerian player to join the club, following in the footsteps of Ibraheem Jabaar and Kazie Enyinnaya, and preceding former striker Stanley Dimgba.

He will wear the number 99 jersey. There's a possibility he could make his debut as early as Wednesday evening when Stellenbosch faces Magesi FC in a Betway Premiership match at the Danie Craven Stadium.

Stellenbosch, under the guidance of head coach Gavin Hunt, is counting on Ndah's extensive league experience and leadership to bolster a defence that has been under pressure. The club is currently focused on avoiding relegation.

Having been eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup over the weekend after failing to advance from the group stage, Stellenbosch will now concentrate entirely on the remaining domestic league fixtures and the Nedbank Cup.

For Ndah, this agreement offers an opportunity to revitalize his career, re- establish his capabilities, and prove his status as one of the PSL's top defenders once more.
