President Bola Tinubu made his way back to Abuja on Wednesday after concluding his engagements in Lagos, where he celebrated Eid-el-Fitr shortly after his visit to the United Kingdom.
The President departed from the Presidential Wing of Murtala Mohammed International Airport at approximately 6:44 p.m., wrapping up a schedule filled with both official duties and festive activities.
Bayo Onanuga, his spokesman, reported that several prominent political figures and government dignitaries gathered at his residence in Ikoyi and at the airport to see him off. These included Ogun State's Governor Dapo Abiodun, former Governor Olusegun Osoba, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat.
Tinubu had returned to Nigeria from the UK the previous Friday, immediately joining fellow Muslims for Eid-el-Fitr prayers at Dodan Barracks in Lagos.
During his time in Lagos, the President engaged in numerous high-level meetings, receiving at least 23 governors from various states, including Ekiti's Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
Additionally, he held discussions with influential stakeholders, such as business magnate Aliko Dangote, members of a European Union delegation, and the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC).
Vice President Kashim Shettima also traveled to Lagos to update the President on his recent visit to Borno State, particularly following a recent suicide bombing incident in that area.
The President's return to Abuja marks a resumption of regular official functions at the Presidential seat after the recent holiday and international engagements.
