Toni Kroos, the ex-midfielder of Real Madrid, has voiced his support for Cristiano Ronaldo, referencing the forward's recent frustration that led him to briefly sit out two matches. Kroos contends that the Saudi Pro League has gained its international recognition largely due to Ronaldo.
Ronaldo reportedly decided to skip games after feeling exasperated by the lack of significant player acquisitions during the recent winter transfer window. Specifically, he missed the encounter against Al-Riyadh on the day the transfer window closed, along with the following match against Al-Ittihad.
Commenting on the matter, Kroos emphasized that the increase in attention towards the league is directly attributed to Ronaldo's involvement. He remarked, "The Saudi league is a strange phenomenon. It was relatively unknown prior to Cristiano Ronaldo joining, and now they are undermining the man who brought it to global prominence."
Kroos further stated, "Should Cristiano decide to leave, the league will lose its allure entirely. Without Ronaldo, the Saudi league would not attract viewers."
