Weeks after celebrating her graduation from a discipleship program at the Streams of Joy International church, presided over by Pastor Jerry Eze, actress Tonto Dikeh has performed what she considers her first deliverance service.

In February, the actress posted a video on Instagram showcasing her discipleship certificate and discussing a profound spiritual renewal that has altered her perspective on life and faith.

On that day, she disclosed via social media that she was officially leaving behind the name King Tonto as part of her spiritual commitment. Tonto, who is 40 years old, made this announcement in what she described as obedience to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

“It brings me joy that I can make this declaration on the first day of March; it aligns perfectly with God’s prophecy in my life that He is taking me from the old and into new prophecies each morning,” she stated.

During a display of what she termed her spiritual capabilities, Dikeh claimed to deliver a young schoolgirl from what she identified as a demonic attack.

According to her, this moment of deliverance was a demonstration of the ministry that God has instilled in her life. “I was saved from the marine world to be a vessel for delivering others,” she expressed.

Dikeh shared on Instagram that while driving away after her outreach at a school, she sensed a spirit of death looming nearby. She immediately relayed her feelings to her team, and they began to pray. Shortly afterward, a young girl approached her, seeking prayer, mentioning experiences of bats appearing around her, which had frightened her.

As they prayed, she reported that the Holy Spirit intervened, filling the space with divine presence and glory. “The spirit of death was confronted, the demonic assault was dispelled, and God’s might facilitated deliverance. Praise God, she was among those students who had previously accepted Christ, reinforcing the depth of God’s work during this meeting. We intend to follow up with her as God continues His ministry in her life,” she remarked.

Along with her post, Tonto circulated videos showing her praying for a teenager clad in a school uniform. During the prayer session, the girl fell into a trance, requiring the support of Tonto's team to hold her steady.

“Gratitude fills our hearts: Thank You, Lord Jesus, for today’s miracles. Over a hundred young champions surrendered their lives to Christ. God is reclaiming His creation, ‘THE WORLD’,” she concluded.

While her followers expressed enthusiasm over Tonto’s new path, there are concerns regarding the legal ramifications of recording a minor without appropriate consent.

The Constitution of Nigeria, particularly Section 37, offers protection to children against unauthorized recordings. Meanwhile, Section 8 of the Child Rights Act affirms a child’s right to privacy, even in online environments. Thus, capturing and distributing a child’s image or video without parental permission, especially if it endangers their safety or integrity, could breach the Cybercrimes Act of 2015.
