Tottenham Hotspur has officially confirmed the transfer of promising forward Elisha Sowunmi from West Ham United, a deal that has not been publicly disclosed.
This transfer marks the end of Sowunmi's ten-year association with the Hammers, where he advanced through the youth academy. Known for his versatility, he can operate as a winger or in a central attacking role.
Last season, Sowunmi emerged as West Ham’s Under-18s leading scorer, achieving multiple hat-tricks including standout performances against Reading and Aston Villa. His efforts were instrumental in securing the Under-18 Premier League Cup for the team.
This transfer comes only six months after he inked his first professional contract with West Ham.
Upon his transfer, Sowunmi shared his enthusiasm about joining Spurs: "I’m really excited to be here. I know a lot about the club from playing against them over the years. It’s a great club with a lot of history, so I’m really, really excited to be here," he expressed during his introductory remarks.
