President Donald Trump has issued a warning indicating that American lives may be lost in the ongoing military engagement with Iran.

"The Iranian regime seeks to kill. The lives of courageous American heroes may be lost, and we may have casualties — that often happens in war — but we’re doing this not for now. We’re doing this for the future, and it is a noble mission," Trump stated during a video message following the launch of attacks on Iran by the United States and Israel.

The president further clarified that part of the operation's goals includes facilitating a change in leadership within Iran.

"When we are finished, take over your government. It will be yours to take. This will be probably your only chance for generations," he said, referring to protests in Iran that arose largely due to economic hardships exacerbated by U.S. sanctions.

According to reports, the assaults by the U.S. and Israel came just one day after indirect talks between Iran and the United States regarding Tehran’s nuclear program. This event mirrors a previous incident from June, during which Israel targeted Iran while direct negotiations with the U.S. were ongoing.

In response, Iran is expected to retaliate by striking American interests, including military assets, throughout the Middle East as well as targeting Israel itself.

Multiple countries, including Iran's Arab neighbors who are affiliated with the U.S., have urged against an armed attack on Iran, warning that such actions could lead to regional instability.

Currently, both Iran and Israel have closed their airspaces, with sirens alerting residents in Israel to take shelter.

As hostilities escalate, various nations including the U.S., China, and the United Kingdom, have recommended that their citizens exit Iran and Israel, citing increased risks of war. Additionally, the U.S. has advised its citizens in Arab nations such as Qatar and Bahrain to seek safety.

This latest attack marks the second instance of Israeli strikes against Iran within a single year, contributing to the escalation toward outright warfare.

The initial confrontation in June resulted in a 12-day military conflict, causing numerous fatalities and extensive damage to infrastructure on both sides, with the U.S. later participating in offensive actions against Iran after initially supporting Israel’s defenses.

In conjunction with preparations for the renewed conflict, the U.S. has bolstered its military presence in the Middle East, deploying numerous fighter aircraft, bombers, and naval vessels despite calls for prudence from various global leaders.

This situation remains fluid, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
