Tyler Perry is currently seeking dismissal of a $77 million sexual assault and battery lawsuit brought against him, arguing in his legal filings that the allegations are unfounded and driven by financial greed.

Documents accessed by TMZ reveal that Perry deems the claims made by model and actor Mario Rodriguez to be absurd fabrications, stating they are 'without grounds in fact or law and devoid of merit.' Perry accuses Rodriguez of persistently soliciting financial assistance after being offered a very minor part in a single film project.

Rodriguez appeared in Perry's 2016 movie titled 'Boo! A Madea Halloween.' According to the court documents, Rodriguez is said to have asked for financial help concerning various expenses such as a vehicle, living arrangements, medical care, and unpaid debts. Perry contends that upon ceasing his financial contributions, Rodriguez concocted allegations of a nonconsensual nature regarding their relationship.

The lawsuit claims that Perry made unwanted advances and behaved inappropriately. Rodriguez has accused Perry of aggressively pursuing him post-filming and of having inappropriately touched him at one point.

In response to the allegations, Perry has categorically denied all claims and is requesting the court to dismiss the case entirely, seeking that Rodriguez receive no damages. The legal proceedings are still ongoing.
