Uba Sani, the Governor of Kaduna State, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Prince Nduka Obaigbena, the Chairman of ARISE and THISDAY Media Group, following the launch of the innovative social app, LekeeLekee.

In a letter dated February 16, 2026, Governor Sani expressed his delight and national pride regarding the launch, stating, "It is with immense pleasure that I convey my warmest congratulations on the debut of LekeeLekee, which is now fully operational on the App Store, Google Play, the web, and is available as a Progressive Web App."

Sani highlighted that this ambitious project, developed by ARISE Broadcast and THISDAY Media Group, is significant not just as a new digital platform, but as a representation of an African-owned social media ecosystem that is fast, fair, and inclusive. The app is specifically designed to meet the needs of underserved communities by providing low-data, high-speed connectivity, and features such as messaging with voice notes, community groups, and thoughtful moderation.

He added, "The launch of this revolutionary super app reaffirms your dedication to media freedom and enhancing Africa's stature within the global content landscape. By challenging existing global narratives and amplifying the voices of authentic African storytellers, you are redefining how our stories are created, disseminated, and monetised."

"This is a pivotal moment both for Nigeria and Africa as a whole. Our vibrant, youthful population is now equipped with a platform that empowers rather than exploits, promotes rather than diminishes. The long-lasting effects on innovation, civic participation, entrepreneurship, and cultural assertion are monumental."

On behalf of the Kaduna State Government and its citizens, Sani assured Obaigbena of their full support for the successful growth of LekeeLekee, wishing it great success as it helps carry African voices globally, in a manner that is authentic and impactful.
