Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has declared that he has no preferred aspirant in the lead-up to the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries scheduled for the state.

The governor made this announcement on Tuesday night while breaking the Ramadan fast with members of the Kaduna State House of Assembly.

He indicated that he would refrain from intervening in the primaries set to occur between April and May, assuring that he would back whichever candidate is chosen as the party's flag bearer through a fair and credible process.

Sani advised all aspirants vying for positions to seek support from party members, emphasizing that he does not favor any specific candidate in the forthcoming primaries. "I will adhere to the choice made by the people," he stated.

Furthermore, Sani reaffirmed his loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as his sole candidate, pledging to assist in Tinubu’s re-election efforts in 2027.

He also cautioned aspirants who may not succeed in the primaries against sabotaging the party, labeling such actions as unproductive.

Reflecting on prior experiences, Sani recalled that during the past APC congress within the state, a number of his supporters faced obstacles when attempting to obtain party positions.

"At that time, certain individuals tried to persuade me to undermine the party, but I declined. I made it clear that I would not act against the organization I helped establish. Today, thanks to God, I hold the position of governor," he remarked.

The governor urged party members to remain united and to resist any divisive efforts from the opposition, particularly after the primaries.
