Governor Uba Sani has asserted that the reforms initiated by his administration in the past two and a half years have established a favorable environment for attracting investments to Kaduna State.
He pointed out that these reforms have received national recognition, notably with Kaduna being ranked second in the 2025 Subnational Ease of Doing Business Report by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council.
The Governor made these statements during the groundbreaking ceremony for the Kaima Smart City, held on Thursday in Pmape, a community located in the Kagarko local government area of Kaduna State, which is adjacent to the Federal Capital Territory.
At the ceremony, Governor Sani expressed that his government is focused on building upon reforms and fostering peace, noting that his administration is now witnessing tangible investment results across essential sectors.
In the housing sector, he highlighted significant projects like the Qatar Sanabil Housing initiative and the Renewed Hope Housing programs, which are providing thousands of affordable homes, along with social infrastructure and employment opportunities particularly for vulnerable and displaced groups.
Governor Sani emphasized that the revitalized investor confidence is contributing to growth in various sectors, including mining, agribusiness, manufacturing, and industrial development, which capitalizes on Kaduna's abundant mineral resources and strategic location.
He remarked, "Together, these investments affirm a simple reality: stability and sound policies are translating into real assets, real livelihoods, and sustained economic growth for our people."
The Governor described Kaima Smart City as a flagship model for modern urban development designed to set new benchmarks for Nigeria and the broader Sub- Saharan region.
With its strategic proximity to Abuja, the Smart City is envisioned as a vital economic and cultural corridor.
Sani noted that the project is expected to exceed an investment of 700 million dollars, demonstrating confidence in Kaduna State as an area where vision aligns with opportunity, with an emphasis on nurturing long-term value.
He stressed that Kaima Smart City would respond to the urgent challenges posed by rapid urbanization, which has strained infrastructure and heightened social inequalities globally.
Governor Sani added that the city would focus on sustainable planning and resilient infrastructure to create an inclusive, efficient, and future-ready urban environment that addresses current needs while safeguarding the interests of future generations.
Upon completion, he promised that Kaima Smart City would become a vibrant center for business, culture, recreation, and innovation, unlocking significant benefits such as meaningful job creation, expanded economic prospects for host communities, and enhanced internal revenue for Kaduna State, thus positioning it as a key tourism destination in Africa.
