VeryDarkMan Alleges Zlatan Ibile Capitalized on Public Dispute for Musical Promotion

Social media activist VeryDarkMan has accused Nigerian singer Zlatan Ibile of deliberately editing a previously recorded track to capitalize on their recent public disagreement for publicity. VDM made the claims in an online video, while also referencing lingering tensions from the Mohbad case.

Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has alleged that indigenous rapper Zlatan Ibile manipulated a public fallout between them to generate commercial attention for his music. VDM claimed the artiste altered an already finished track by inserting a contentious verse designed to trigger online buzz.

Speaking through a video shared across digital platforms, the controversial commentator asserted that the musical project existed in its completed form before undergoing alterations. He suggested that external voices and critics nudged the musician into sustaining the feud, with pop star Davido later getting drawn into the unfolding scenario.

“As a matter of fact, them don do that song before, they edited it back to put that verse so that the thing go blow, which I don’t mind,” VDM stated in the footage.

What motivated the public allegations?

According to VDM, the tension escalated after individuals critical of his online commentary threw their weight behind the musician. Despite downplaying the strength of the artiste's dedicated fanbase in comparison to the noise generated by the controversy, VDM conceded that he appreciates the entertainer's creative output.

“Zlatan is a great artist, I love his songs,” he remarked.

How does the Mohbad case tie into the feud?

Beyond the immediate online exchanges, VDM reiterated that underlying grievances regarding the controversial circumstances surrounding the death of late singer Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, formed the bedrock of his reservations about Zlatan.

“That same Mohbad case make me no like Zlatan,” he added, pointing to past events that continue to influence contemporary celebrity dynamics within the Nigerian entertainment scene.
