The Yobe State Police Command has successfully taken into custody an 18-year- old housewife, identified as Hadiza Jamilu, who had been on the run after allegedly inflicting a severe injury on her husband's genitals. The incident, which is reported to have occurred during a domestic dispute in the Potiskum Local Government Area of the state, led to the victim being found in a critical condition.

The police command confirmed the arrest, stating that officers had responded to an emergency call on Friday, February 6, 2026, and discovered the man in a pool of blood inside his residence. The victim was immediately transported to a local clinic for preliminary treatment before being referred to the Azare Medical Centre for further specialised care.

According to the police spokesperson, Dungus Abdulkarim, the suspect, Hadiza Jamilu, was apprehended on Monday, February 9, 2026, after an extensive search. Abdulkarim noted that the suspect had fled the scene immediately after the alleged assault, and it took some time before she could be located and taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing to ascertain the full details and circumstances that led to the use of a sharp object to cause such a severe injury to the husband.
