The government of Zamfara State has mobilized 1,474 security personnel across the state to guarantee a seamless Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

Malam Abubakar Mohammad Nakwada, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), made this announcement after a high-level security meeting in Gusau.

In a statement released by his media aide, Suleman Ahmad Tudu, the contingent comprises police officers, civil defense teams, intelligence agents, road safety officials, and explosive ordnance disposal specialists.

Nakwada relayed that Governor Dauda Lawal convened the meeting to evaluate the state’s security preparedness in anticipation of the festivities.

The deployed personnel will collaborate with local authorities for intelligence gathering, surveillance, patrol duties, and managing traffic within the 14 local government areas.

The SSG commended the various security agencies for their ongoing efforts and reassured them of the government’s backing.

“I assure you that Governor Dauda Lawal is committed to providing the necessary support for you to effectively carry out your responsibilities despite the constraints in resources,” he stated.

He urged the public to remain watchful and assist security agencies, emphasizing that ensuring safety is a collective duty.

Moreover, the SSG called on traditional and religious leaders to encourage unity and peaceful coexistence during the festive season.

The security meeting was attended by leaders of security agencies and other key government officials.
