The Zamfara State Government has gifted 10 brand new motorcycles to the Gusau Central Police Station. Abubakar Mohammad Nakwada, Secretary to the Zamfara State Government (SSG), presented the motorcycles to the Divisional Police Officer, Chief Superintendent of Police Abubakar Sani Mohammad, on Tuesday.
During the presentation, the SSG, represented by the Permanent Secretary for Cabinet Affairs, Abubakar Mohammad Gusau, explained that these motorcycles are intended to assist police patrols, especially in areas of the city that are difficult to access with regular operational vehicles.
He emphasized that the state government would also provide the necessary support for fuel to ensure the motorcycles are used effectively for security operations.
This initiative is part of ongoing efforts by Governor Dauda Lawal’s administration to combat various criminal activities within the state.
Receiving the motorcycles, Divisional Officer Mohammed remarked that their addition would greatly enhance their operational efficiency in tackling criminals, particularly those exploiting hard-to-reach areas for their illicit activities.
He expressed his appreciation to Governor Dauda Lawal for his commitment to equipping all security agencies in Zamfara, reassuring that they will strive to meet the expectations set before them.
Notably, since 2025, the Zamfara State Government has distributed over 140 operational vehicles to different security agencies and is continuously offering logistical support.
Additionally, the Zamfara State Government is currently undertaking rehabilitation and remodeling projects for the Gusau Central Police Station and the Force Command Headquarters, with allocated costs of N726.9 million and N1.4 billion, respectively.
