President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has alleged that Russia is offering intelligence assistance to Iran, which serves to heighten tensions in the Middle Eastern region.
In a speech delivered on Monday night, Zelensky pointed to evidence from Ukraine’s military intelligence agency that suggests ongoing support from Moscow to Iranian authorities, although he did not elaborate further.
He mentioned receiving additional updates from Ukraine’s domestic security agency regarding the evolving situation.
Zelensky cautioned against the potential advantages that Russia could gain from the shifting geopolitical landscape and the fluctuations in oil prices due to its ongoing conflict in Ukraine, highlighting the international implications of this situation.
He praised Ukrainian forces for their accurate strikes on Russian oil facilities, noting that these targets represent a significant source of funding for Russia’s military operations.
The Ukrainian president also warned that Russia might be poised to launch a significant offensive, citing intelligence data, as Ukraine continues its defense against the large-scale invasion that began in February 2022.
