The Smart Aid Initiative Internship Program 2026 is now open, offering young graduates a structured pathway to gain practical experience in the nonprofit and development sector.

This six-month internship, based in Kaduna (with hybrid flexibility), is designed for individuals passionate about social impact, inclusive education, and youth empowerment.

Smart Aid Initiative, a youth-led nonprofit, is committed to tackling social inequalities through education, digital skills, and advocacy. This program gives you the chance to work on real projects while developing valuable professional skills in a purpose-driven environment.

Available Internship Roles

Applicants can apply for any of the following positions:

Communications Intern

Programmes, Research & Partnerships Intern

Finance Intern

Each role is carefully structured to provide both hands-on experience and strategic insight into how development organisations operate.

What You’ll Do

Depending on your role, your responsibilities may include:

Creating content and managing social media platforms

Supporting digital communication and outreach campaigns

Assisting in programme design, research, and data analysis

Contributing to partnership development initiatives

Supporting budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance processes

You’ll work closely with experienced team members, contributing to programme implementation, documentation, and organisational growth.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, applicants must:

Be a recent graduate in fields such as social sciences, communication, finance, law, or related disciplines

Possess strong communication and analytical skills

Be proficient in Microsoft Office tools and own a laptop

Reside in Kaduna or nearby areas and be available for hybrid work (including at least two in-office days weekly)

Be available for the full six-month duration

Demonstrate a genuine interest in development work and community impact
