A man has recently drawn attention by discussing his challenging experiences while working in Nigeria’s banking sector as a contract staff member.
He expressed that the work conditions can be incredibly tough, characterizing the system as one that expects employees to work excessively while providing minimal appreciation or benefits. Despite his capabilities and dedication, he found himself neither promoted nor afforded the complete benefits he was entitled to.
He shared that although he was entitled to one month of vacation, he struggled to take even two weeks off at one time.
In a personal account, he mentioned falling seriously ill during work hours and needing medical treatment. However, upon returning, his supervisor questioned his absence and suggested he manage his health issues while still performing his job duties.
This incident left a profound impact on him, affecting his mindset even after moving abroad.
While working in a bank overseas, he noted that his supervisor observed his unwell condition and asked why he hadn’t reported it. The supervisor emphasized that he was entitled to proper sick leave, highlighting a stark contrast to his previous experiences in Nigeria.
A video accompanying his account provides additional insights.
