A woman facing accusations of attempting to murder her husband is currently under indictment in Alabama, according to WBRC, referencing court documents dated March 4, 2026.
Sara Baker, who practiced law in Cullman County and had previously served with the District Attorney's Office, was apprehended in November 2025. She allegedly added fentanyl to her husband James Doyle Baker's food or drink.
According to legal documents, these events reportedly transpired on September 4, September 12, and September 20 of 2025.
Following her arrest, the Alabama Bar Association suspended her license in December.
Baker, aged 75, has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder, three counts of attempted murder, second-degree domestic violence, second-degree elder abuse, unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, and four counts of solicitation to commit a controlled substance offense, as per court records.
Reports indicate that a witness in the case against Baker is also one of her former clients.
This witness, a 39-year-old woman, was indicted in August by a grand jury for allegedly ingesting fentanyl in an effort to eliminate evidence related to the case in which Baker was her legal representative.
Additionally, the grand jury has filed an indictment against the woman for having burglary tools in her possession.
