Katie Price Receives Seventh Driving Ban Over Speeding and Failure to Respond to Police

Katie Price has been prohibited from driving for the seventh time due to her failure to address police correspondence concerning a speeding violation. The 47-year-old former glamour model received a six-month driving disqualification after a Ford Capri registered in her name was detected travelling at 80mph on the A64 near Stutton, North Yorkshire.

Police officials reached out to her to confirm the identity of the driver, but no reply was received. Consequently, she was prosecuted and found guilty of failing to provide information to the police. The court also mandated that she pay fines and costs totalling over £1,000.

This latest driving prohibition adds to a considerable history of traffic violations that began in 2010, accumulating to over six years of combined bans. Previous infractions include speeding, driving whilst disqualified, drink-driving, and repeatedly failing to identify drivers in multiple instances.

In 2019, Price admitted to driving while already disqualified, which led to an additional ban. She was later convicted for being intoxicated while in charge of a vehicle. At the time, a judge dismissed her assertion that another individual was driving, deeming her account "not plausible." She has also faced penalties for operating a vehicle without a licence or insurance. In 2021, she received a suspended prison sentence following a collision where she pleaded guilty to driving under the influence.

Her most recent conviction was handled via the Single Justice Procedure, a method where magistrates decide cases without a full court session. Magistrate Claire Sagar found Price guilty of failing to respond to police requests and imposed financial penalties, while the original speeding charge was dropped.

Beyond her driving record, Ms. Price has encountered financial difficulties, including bankruptcy proceedings. Although her bankruptcies from 2019 and 2024 have been concluded, she is still bound by a court order to settle her debts until February 2027. She has previously stated that her extensive driving convictions have significantly impacted her ability to secure car insurance.
