"The Anambra State Government firmly asserts that the alarming videos circulating on various social media outlets, depicting victims of violent assaults from prior years, are OLD FOOTAGE strategically recirculated to sow fear and promote economic sabotage," the statement emphasized.

The government condemned the circulation of these videos as insensitive, especially to the families of those who suffered during that time.

The government reassured that security conditions in Anambra have markedly improved, citing greater collaboration among security agencies and the state’s vigilante group, Agunechemba.

"Anambra State is currently much safer than during the times when those old videos were filmed," the statement noted.
