Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, widely recognized as Odumeje, has been honored by the Anambra State Police Force, specifically from Zone 13, for his impressive reputation as a "bold and fearless preacher" with substantial visibility both in Nigeria and abroad.
Odumeje, who leads the Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, is well-known for his distinct approach to healing, which incorporates wrestling-style elements, and for his collaborations in Afrobeat music with artist Flavour.
On Tuesday, the prophet took to Instagram to share a video showcasing the award presentation by the Nigerian Police Force, Zone 13, which includes the commands of Anambra and Enugu.
The honorary recognition was given by Chief Superintendent of Police Emmanuel Madu, who serves as the zonal chaplain for Zone 13, during a church service. He mentioned that this decision followed a thorough evaluation of Odumeje's public ministry and his personality.
"After careful consideration, we found it necessary to honor the prophet of our time, a well-regarded preacher known nationally and internationally," Madu stated. "He is regarded as one of Nigeria's boldest and most courageous preachers. For those reasons, our office decided to give him an award of excellence and to establish a partnership with him for the zone."
Madu remarked that Odumeje's outspoken nature and substantial internet presence played pivotal roles in this decision, asserting that his bold oratory is evident online.
The recognition is a testament to Odumeje's ability to gather a vast following through his dramatic sermons and controversial deliverance practices, where he often uses theatrical titles like “The Liquid Metal” and “Indaboski.”
In response to this honor, Odumeje reiterated his identity as a fearless preacher, drawing from biblical references to solidify his perspective. "For this generation, I speak boldly," he emphasized. “The scripture in 2 Timothy 1:7 illustrates that God has not instilled a spirit of fear in us, but one of power, love, and self-control. My preaching is backed by evidence, including facts and videos. I am a warrior, a fighter, and a battle; I embody the Liquid Metal and Indaboski.”
This recent accolade contributes to Odumeje's long-standing history of garnering public attention, often for controversial reasons. This is not the first time he has received recognition from his church; earlier, on March 13, 2020, he was also honored as a National Patron of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).
