Hip-hop artist Cardi B has expressed her determination to see thieves prosecuted after discovering fraudulent transactions linked to her stolen credit card. The Grammy winner took to Instagram Live to share her frustration and outline the events that unfolded.
Cardi B explained that her American Express card went missing around two weeks prior to her announcement. Shortly after, unauthorized purchases began appearing, amounting to a significant sum.
"So why I see a purchase, like a $40,000 purchase from Saks for my Amex. 35 minutes passed. And then there was a $20,000 purchase on Apple… some weird sh*t was happening," the rapper stated during her live session.
Her accountant reportedly received immediate alerts regarding the suspicious activity and contacted the artist without delay. "As soon as we saw that it was a funny activity going on, we completely cut off the credit card," she added.
Cardi B indicated that she possesses surveillance footage that could identify the individuals responsible for the alleged theft and subsequent spending. She vowed to pursue all available avenues to ensure they face legal consequences.
A video detailing the situation was also shared, accompanying her announcement. The rapper's statement highlights the ongoing risks associated with financial data security, even for public figures.
