Orlando City has officially announced the acquisition of Antoine Griezmann, the celebrated French forward and World Cup winner.
At 35 years of age, Griezmann inked a two-year agreement that extends through the 2027-28 season, incorporating an option for the 2028-29 season.
The signing remains subject to the French international passing a medical examination, obtaining his International Transfer Certificate, and acquiring a P-1 visa.
Griezmann will conclude the current season with Atlético Madrid and is set to join Orlando when the summer transfer window opens on July 13.
"I am very excited to begin this next chapter of my career with Orlando City," Griezmann expressed in a statement.
"From my first discussions with the Club, I sensed a strong ambition and a well-defined vision for the future. This resonated with me. I am eager to make Orlando my new home, meet the supporters, experience the atmosphere at Inter&Co; Stadium, and give my all to help the team reach new heights."
Griezmann was a crucial member of the French national team that won the World Cup in 2018 and was a runner-up in 2022. He transferred to Atlético Madrid from Real Sociedad in 2014, where he garnered three trophies, including the Europa League in 2018.
In 2019, he became one of the world's most expensive transfers when he moved to Barcelona for £107 million before returning to Atlético in 2021.
Griezmann, who finished third in the Ballon d'Or awards in 2016 and 2018, announced his retirement from international football in September 2024 after earning 137 caps for France.
