The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced an extension of its electronic membership registration period, now set to conclude on February 8, 2026. This decision was made to accommodate requests from party stakeholders who expressed the need for additional time to engage in the membership process.

This resolution came during the 183rd meeting of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), which took place on Friday, January 30, 2026, at the APC National Secretariat located in Abuja. The party indicated that this extension aims to facilitate the registration, updating, and validation of membership records for both new and existing party supporters through its electronic platform.

In conjunction with this extension, the NWC has also made modifications to the timeline for the party's congress and convention as part of the lead-up to upcoming internal events. Ward congresses are now slated to be conducted nationwide on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

Additionally, the APC National Convention, which serves as a significant decision-making assembly for the ruling party, has been moved to March 27 and 28, 2026.

However, it is important to note that Osun State, Ekiti State, and the Federal Capital Territory will not participate in the upcoming congresses due to scheduled elections in these regions. Rivers State has also been excluded, as its current state executive committee remains under an existing tenure.

Furthermore, the NWC has established the National Convention Planning Committee, which will oversee the arrangements and logistical aspects of the convention. Details regarding the updated congress timetable, activity schedule, and the committee's composition will be released at an appropriate time.

This announcement was made public by Felix Morka, CON, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, who reiterated the party's dedication to ensuring orderly internal processes and fostering inclusive participation.
