A deadly attack occurred in Tse Bawa, a Tiv village situated in the Chanchanji Ward of Takum Local Government Area, Taraba State, where three people were reported killed by assailants believed to be armed herdsmen.
The incident unfolded on Friday afternoon, January 30, 2026, as the gunmen invaded the village, discharging their firearms indiscriminately and instilling fear among the local populace.
The deceased have been named as Faasema Alibo, Mr. Mfavega, and an elderly man identified from the neighboring Chanwa community.
Witnesses described the situation as abrupt, with many villagers fleeing into nearby forests for refuge, leaving their homes and farmland abandoned in the wake of the chaos.
As of the time of reporting, law enforcement agencies had not released any official comments regarding the attack, leaving inhabitants of the area deeply concerned about the ongoing violence targeting Tiv communities.
