Arsenal celebrated their advancement to the UEFA Champions League quarter- finals in an impressive manner, while both Chelsea and Manchester City faced dramatic exits in a night filled with surprises throughout the knockout stages in Europe.

At the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal showcased a confident and effective performance, defeating Bayer Leverkusen 2-0, thereby clinching a 3-1 victory on aggregate to secure their spot in the last eight. Eberechi Eze opened the scoring with a spectacular strike in the first half, skillfully controlling a pass from Leandro Trossard before unleashing a powerful shot into the top corner.

After the halftime break, Declan Rice added to the lead with a brilliant goal, advancing forward before curling a precise shot into the corner, marking a dominant display by his team. Despite some late pressure from Leverkusen and a near miss saved by David Raya, Mikel Arteta's team maintained composure, setting up a quarter-final match against Sporting CP.

In a stark contrast, Chelsea faced one of their most humiliating defeats in Champions League history, losing 3-0 to Paris Saint-Germain and exiting with an 8-2 aggregate scoreline after suffering from severe defensive lapses and missed chances.

PSG capitalized early on, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scoring after Mamadou Sarr mismanaged a long pass, and Moises Caicedo's error in the midfield enabled Achraf Hakimi to assist Bradley Barcola for the second goal. The French side went on to score a third through Senny Mayulu, further deepening Chelsea's woes in a one-sided affair.

The situation for Chelsea worsened when Trevoh Chalobah had to leave the field due to injury, reducing the team to ten players after all substitutions were exhausted, allowing PSG to easily manage the match until the final whistle.

Meanwhile, Manchester City also faced elimination following a 2-1 defeat at home to Real Madrid, culminating in a 5-1 aggregate loss. The hopes of Pep Guardiola's squad suffered a significant blow due to a critical moment involving captain Bernardo Silva.

Silva received a red card for handling a goal-bound shot from Vinicius Jr. on the line, conceding a penalty that the Brazilian successfully converted to extend Madrid’s lead. Although Erling Haaland managed to equalize briefly before halftime, City saw several attempts thwarted by Thibaut Courtois and his substitute Andriy Lunin.

In spite of continued pressing, Manchester City was unable to overcome the challenge, and Vinicius sealed their fate with a goal in added time, advancing the defending champions.

As Arsenal forges ahead with confidence and determination, the departures of Chelsea and Manchester City highlight the ruthless nature of Champions League competition, where errors and moments of brilliance ultimately determine success or failure.
