Autopsy findings related to the two crew members discovered dead at a film shoot location in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, have eliminated food poisoning as a contributing factor to their deaths.

Reports indicate that one of the deceased, 36-year-old cinematographer Walter Odediran, had an empty stomach, while his friend, Godstime Imeh, who served as a Lighting Director and Chief Officer for GeeTee Light, had only a minimal amount of food in his.

On February 7, 2026, the bodies of these individuals were located inside a Nissan vehicle owned by Imeh, parked within the grounds of Evercare Hospital, where filming was underway.

According to sources familiar with the autopsy, pathologists discovered little to no food in their stomachs. "In one case, the stomach was empty, while the other had just a small amount of food. It was almost as if he hadn’t eaten anything," a source told Vanguard.

Further tests on blood and tissue samples are set to be conducted to determine if the victims had ingested or inhaled any toxic materials prior to their deaths.

Walter Odediran’s elder brother, Kola Odediran, confirmed that the preliminary autopsy results were communicated to the family on February 18. He stated: "The autopsy itself is complete, and no food was found in my late brother. The findings suggest he did not consume anything. However, they are going to conduct toxicology and histology tests to provide us with the definitive answers we're seeking."

The outcomes of these additional tests are anticipated to be available within two to three weeks. Family members of the deceased remain hopeful that the forthcoming results will clarify the mysterious circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event.
