A female insurgent associated with Boko Haram has surrendered to the Nigerian military in Konduga, Borno State, as part of Operation Hadin Kai.
The woman, 25-year-old Kaltum Dalha, voluntarily turned herself in at approximately 11:00 a.m. on February 26, 2026, at the Forward Operating Base.
She was reportedly accompanied by her two-year-old child, Awana Dalha, and arrived from Sabsawa Village.
Initial investigations indicate that her husband, identified as a Boko Haram commander in the Mairam Buri region, was killed by military personnel during a recent engagement, as noted in a prior operational update.
According to reports, her husband's death was a significant factor in her decision to surrender to the authorities.
During her questioning, she further stated that the group's structure had fractured following the loss of their leader.
In recent months, Operation Hadin Kai has intensified its military actions, leading to the neutralization of multiple Boko Haram commanders, numerous arrests, and the recovery of arms and ammunition, along with the surrenders of insurgents and their families.
