Bride-to-be Reveals Reasons Behind Cancelled Wedding Due to Fiancé's Family

A lady has recounted her experiences that led her to call off her engagement.

This social media user explained that arrangements were underway for the traditional marriage, which was set to occur at the bride's family residence. However, the groom's family proposed that the event should be hosted in their own state, citing the presence of dignitaries and claiming it would be more convenient for the bride's family to travel than for the dignitaries to make the journey to the bride's location.

She stated, "His mother mentioned that their acquaintances and notable individuals were unable to journey from Lagos to Benin. Consequently, she requested that I inform my father they would cover 'family expenses' to bring my family and relatives to Lagos for both the traditional and main weddings."

The woman went on to say, "When I asked my fiancé if he was aware of what his mother suggested, he affirmed he was. He added, 'These lawyers and judges typically prefer not to travel far. We will ensure your family has comfortable lodging, and my parents are intending to compensate your dad with ₦20 million.'"

She concluded, "That was it! No one has ever disrespected my family in such a manner as she has."
