Preston Bailey, the wedding planner for Brooklyn Beckham, has expressed surprise at the emerging rift between Brooklyn and his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, which has been publicly discussed. He insisted that throughout the planning process for Brooklyn's wedding to Nicola Peltz in 2022, there was a notable absence of tension.
Bailey, a renowned celebrity wedding planner who collaborated closely with Brooklyn and Nicola over nearly a year, stated that his interactions during the wedding preparations did not align with the narrative of discord currently being portrayed.
“It surprises me that he is taking this stand against his parents,” Bailey remarked, describing Brooklyn as a “nice, gentle guy” who was engaged and respectful throughout the planning process. He noted that Brooklyn was actively involved in decision-making, making it hard to believe that there were underlying family issues at play during that time.
The planner also refuted claims that Nicola Peltz was domineering in the planning of the wedding. According to Bailey, all decisions required Brooklyn's consent before proceeding, and he observed a loving dynamic between the couple, without any signs of control or pressure from Nicola.
Having organized significant weddings for high-profile individuals, including Donald and Melania Trump, Bailey reported his interactions with Brooklyn and Nicola as consistently professional and positive. Most of these interactions were facilitated through Zoom or at the Peltz family residence in Palm Beach, with no direct involvement from David or Victoria Beckham.
Bailey's involvement concluded about 11 months into the planning, partially due to scheduling conflicts, and he also handled the couple’s engagement party. He had previously referred to the Peltz family as “lovely people.”
Recently, Brooklyn Beckham has mentioned that he does not wish to mend his relationship with his parents, attributing several disputes regarding his wedding, such as disagreements on the first dance and attire, as reasons for this stance.
Sources around the Beckham family have noted that David and Victoria remain anxious about their son's sentiments, fearing a permanent estrangement, with some believing reconciliation may be unlikely without significant changes. To date, the Beckhams have not provided any public comments about the situation.
Despite the surrounding controversy, Bailey asserts that the wedding planning phase was characterized by a friendly and cooperative spirit, stating clearly: “There was never any tension.”
