The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has dispatched a group of technical experts to the three nations hosting the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations to carry out inspections of stadiums and facilities. The inspection activities commenced this week and will extend until Tuesday, February 17.
These assessments will evaluate the condition of playing surfaces, safety measures, security protocols, and infrastructure at critical match and training locations slated for the tournament. CAF emphasizes that these evaluations are part of a broader initiative to elevate standards both on the pitch and off it, thereby strengthening AFCON’s reputation among major global football events.
The inspection journey will kick off in Tanzania, where inspections are scheduled in Dar es Salaam, Arusha, and Zanzibar. In Kenya, the team will review stadiums in Nairobi, such as Kasarani Stadium, Nyayo Stadium, and Talanta Sport Stadium, in addition to training venues including the Ulinzi Sports Complex and the Kenya Academy of Sports.
Meanwhile, in Uganda, the CAF team will be assessing sites in Entebbe and Kampala, checking on Mandela National Stadium and other training locations, before heading to Hoima to evaluate Hoima City Stadium.
CAF officials stress that these inspections are essential in guaranteeing that the host nations fulfill the organizational and technical criteria needed for a successful AFCON 2027.
