Calabar Immigration Officer Found Deceased, Police Initiate Investigation

Authorities in Cross River have started an investigation following the discovery of a deceased 30-year-old Immigration officer in Calabar. The incident came to light when the victim's sister reported his death to the police.

The Cross River Police Command has launched an inquiry into the unexpected and suspicious death of a 30-year-old Immigration officer based in Calabar.

Joy Benson, who resides on Holland Street in Calabar, notified law enforcement that her younger brother, Wofai Benson Akpama, was discovered dead in his residence at No. 34 Mbora Street, as reported by security analyst Zagazola Makama.

Detectives were promptly assigned to the location where the body was found.

According to police sources, there were no apparent signs of trauma on the deceased's body, and foul play is not suspected at this stage.

The body was later transported to the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) for preservation, as well as for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

The police command has stated that the investigation is underway, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
