A casket maker, whose identity remains undisclosed, is said to have died following a visit to an acquaintance at a brothel in Kubwa, within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
According to Daily Trust, the occurrence took place during the weekend at a facility that operates both as a guest house and a brothel in the Kukwaba region of the satellite town.
A correspondent from the publication visited the deceased’s residence, situated opposite the NNPC junction in Kubwa, but could not find any family members present.
Reports indicate that arrangements were being made to transport his remains to his home state of Cross River for final rites.
Neighbors alleged that the casket maker had visited the establishment to meet a female acquaintance when he collapsed prior to his departure.
A source stated, "The lady reported the incident to the hotel manager, who then informed the Kubwa Police Division."
Upon arrival at the scene, police officers took the man to Kubwa General Hospital, where he was later declared dead.
During a visit to the Kubwa Police Division on Monday, officials confirmed the occurrence.
A police representative revealed that three individuals—including the female companion, the hotel manager, and the owner of the hotel—had been called in for questioning and later permitted to leave.
It was noted that the deceased's family requested the release of the body, and this was granted.
However, when approached for comments, CSP Paul Lazarus, the Divisional Police Officer for Kubwa, indicated that he had not yet been briefed about the situation but assured that an investigation would be carried out.
