Chelsea has secured its position in the FA Cup final following a tense semi- final encounter where Enzo Fernandez's header in the first half sealed a 1-0 win over Leeds United at Wembley.
Fernandez found the back of the net in the 23rd minute, converting Pedro Neto's cross. This goal marked a successful debut for interim manager Calum McFarlane, coming shortly after Liam Rosenior's recent dismissal.
Leeds had opportunities to level the score before and after Chelsea's goal. Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez made crucial saves to deny Brenden Aaronson early on and later stopped attempts from Anton Stach and Dominic Calvert-Lewin as Daniel Farke's team pressed for an equaliser.
Chelsea came close to increasing their advantage when Joao Pedro's effort struck the post. However, the team had to maintain a strong defensive posture throughout the final stages of the match.
The victory advances Chelsea to the final, where they will face Manchester City on Saturday, 16 May. The club is aiming to break a streak of three consecutive FA Cup final losses.
