Marco Silva, the manager of Fulham, has provided an encouraging update concerning the team's prospects ahead of their Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. He confirmed that Samuel Chukwueze has returned to training and is eager to play after missing the club's impressive 3–1 victory against Sunderland last weekend due to an injury sustained in practice.
Chukwueze's absence was notably felt by the team; however, Fulham managed to maintain their momentum at the Stadium of Light despite his sidelining.
Discussing the situation leading up to the Spurs match, Silva expressed cautious optimism regarding Chukwueze's return. "Saša (Lukić), (Samuel) Chukwueze, and others have fluctuated in their availability, but they have had a productive week. (Antonee) Robinson is also back working with the team," Silva commented through the club's official communication channels.
The Fulham boss emphasized that they would be careful with players' fitness levels and that the final decision about Chukwueze's inclusion would depend on the outcome of the upcoming training session. "We will have one more training session, and a decision will be made afterward," he noted.
Chukwueze's possible return is a timely boost for Fulham, as he has shown remarkable form since joining the club on loan from AC Milan this summer. During this season's campaign, he has proved instrumental, making significant contributions in his 13 league appearances, netting three goals and providing four assists. His engaging style of play has added much-needed dynamism to Fulham's attacking strategies.
As Fulham aims to build on their recent success and challenge top-tier opposition, Chukwueze's presence could be crucial in maintaining that competitive edge. For Silva, the task lies in finding the right balance between ensuring player fitness and keeping the team competitive. For Chukwueze, it's a prime opportunity to reinforce that his resurgence in the English football scene is here to stay.
