Alex Duong, known for his work as a writer, actor, and comedian based in Los Angeles, has sadly passed away at 42 years old.
Last year, Duong received a diagnosis of alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer that targets soft tissues. He underwent surgery to remove a malignant tumor that obstructed blood flow to his optic nerve, resulting in vision impairment.
On the night of Friday, March 27, Duong was admitted to the hospital for septic shock, and he unfortunately passed away on Saturday, March 28, at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, California.
A statement from his family expressed their profound sorrow: “With the heaviest hearts, we share that our dear Alex passed away peacefully this morning, surrounded by love and dear friends.”
The statement continued, “He was comfortable and thankfully free of pain. [His wife] Christina and [daughter] Everest were able to visit him last night, and he was alert enough to say goodbye to his little girl, whom he has cherished since her birth. We are heartbroken, but immensely grateful for the support, prayers, and kindness shown during this difficult time. Your ongoing support is vital as Christina and Everest navigate the upcoming days and plan a beautiful celebration of his life.”
He is survived by his beloved wife and daughter.
