Bright Edafe, the spokesperson for the police command, stated that the victim was able to identify her abductors, leading to their swift apprehension.

During questioning on February 26, the suspects directed officers to a wooded area along the Iyede route, where they recovered a magazine containing 24 live rounds of ammunition.

Additionally, on February 27, the suspects pointed the team to another location within the same vicinity, which resulted in the discovery of an AK-47 rifle.

"They were recognized by a female victim who was kidnapped on February 4, 2026, at Olu Avenue in Ughelli," Edafe explained. "She was freed three days later after the ransom of N2 million was paid."

He mentioned that the suspects remain in detention as inquiries progress to capture other members of the criminal group.
