During the court proceedings, police prosecutor Rufus Pereware informed the court that Ekpenyong faced a three-count charge encompassing unlawful assault, conspiracy, and malicious damage.

The prosecutor reiterated that Ekpenyong and his accomplices conspired to intentionally damage the rear tire of a Dyna truck, registered as UBJ 637 ZY, which belongs to Ifeanyi Bright Oluoma, valued at N600,000.

These offences are said to be punishable under Sections 172, 353, and 184 of the Criminal Laws of Edo State, 2022.

The prosecutor also requested the presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Nwoha, to postpone the hearing, citing the absence of one of the complainants, Emeka Martins, who was reported to be unwell.

Consequently, the Magistrate adjourned the matter until March 19 for further hearing.
