In a statement issued by Dele Oyewale, Head of Media and Publicity at EFCC, the suspects were intercepted during a meticulously planned operation and are currently in custody for further investigation.

Recovered solid minerals include lithium, tin, and lepidolite.

The commission noted that the suspects were unable to present valid licenses, permits, or regulatory approvals that would legitimize their mining and transport operations.

Additionally, the trucks used to carry the suspected illegally mined minerals were seized during this operation.

The EFCC confirmed that the arrested individuals will face legal charges once the investigations are complete.
