Nkechinyere Mbah, the First Lady of Enugu State, has partnered with the Rauf Badamosi Foundation and the Igbo-Eze South Local Government Council to enhance access to quality education in the local government area.

Mrs. Mbah was represented by her Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties, Chidimma Egonu, during the launch of the 2026 Igbo-Eze South Local Government Education Support Initiative. This significant intervention highlights a unified commitment to place education at the forefront of sustainable development.

The initiative is being executed in collaboration with the Custoscare Foundation and the Rauf Badamosi Foundation.

“Such partnerships illustrate the effectiveness of dedicated teamwork in tackling genuine social issues,” remarked Ugo Ferdinand Ukwueze, the chairman of Igbo-Eze South.

The program aims to alleviate the financial obstacles that impoverished students encounter by funding their JAMB and WAEC registration fees.

Beyond addressing short-term financial concerns, the initiative also focuses on broadening access to quality education, nurturing human capital, and empowering the youth of Igbo-Eze South to pursue their academic dreams. It embodies the Ukwueze administration’s commitment to educational investments that promote youth self-sufficiency and long-term socio-economic development.

During the launch, numerous young people from the Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area received complimentary registrations for WAEC and JAMB exams.

“It was uplifting to witness renewed hope and the possibility of new futures being created in such a direct way,” Ukwueze expressed.

He extended heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Nkechinyere Ihuoma Mbah, highlighting her generosity through the Custoscare Foundation, which fully covered the JAMB registration costs for all female candidates.

“This remarkable gesture reflects her dedication to girl-child education and gender equity,” he added.

Mr. Ukwueze also commended Alhaji Jimoh Rauf Badamosi, CEO of JRB Solar Investment Limited, whose contributions ensured all eligible students from Igbo-Eze South had their WAEC registration expenses fully covered.

“The impact of his actions, both public and subtle, positions him as a true patriot committed to our community,” noted the chairman.

He emphasized that the initiative’s successes align with the vision of Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, whose "Tomorrow Is Here Agenda" aims to secure promising futures for the youth through strategic educational investments.

“What we saw today is a local manifestation of this larger, community-focused vision,” Ukwueze stated. He expressed appreciation for the involvement of Traditional Rulers, clergy, stakeholders, and honorary guests whose diverse contributions facilitated the program’s success.

He applauded prominent speakers, Associate Professor Chiemezie Atama and Mrs. Blessing Egbachukwu, for their enlightening and impactful speeches which further enriched the event and inspired the student beneficiaries.

To the students who benefited, he offered a reminder: today’s assistance comes with expectations of responsibility. As they progress, their successes should inspire them to give back to their communities and society at large.

“As a government, we firmly believe education is the most valuable investment in our collective future. Today’s initiative was not merely an event; it was a declaration of our commitment to ensure that no child in Igbo-Eze South is disadvantaged by their circumstances.”
