A 21-year-old man was allegedly killed by his father in Umarari area of Maiduguri, Borno State.
The event unfolded on February 25, 2026, at around 9:00 p.m., when a confrontation occurred between Chairman Mai Maya, whose age remains unverified, and his son, Alhaji Mohammed Lawan.
During the altercation, the father reportedly stabbed his son twice in the back.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, a police patrol team from Ite Division responded to the scene and discovered the victim lying in a pool of blood.
Photographic evidence was documented before the victim was transported to the State Specialist Hospital in Maiduguri for medical intervention.
Unfortunately, the victim was declared dead on February 26 at approximately 5:15 a.m. by the medical staff attending to him.
Following his death, the body was recorded through photographs and subsequently handed over to his family for burial in accordance with Islamic traditions.
Authorities have confirmed that the suspect is currently evading capture, and efforts are being made to locate and apprehend him.
The incident is under investigation by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Maiduguri.
